New Delhi: Western Army Commander Lt General Nav K Khanduri gave way gallantry and distinguished service awards to Army personnel and their family members on Friday at an investiture ceremony held at Mamun Mil Military Station in Pathankot.

The Indian Army said in a tweet, "Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri #ArmyCommander #WesternCommand presented gallantry awards, distinguished service awards & unit citations during #InvestitureCeremony 2022 held at Mamun. He commended all ranks for their valour & professionalism".

The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command awarded 35 officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers and family members of five slain Army personnel, among others.

The awards conferred included one Yudh Seva Medal, 32 Sena Medals for Gallantry, Three Sena Medals for distinguished service, 12 Vishisht Seva Medals & 24 Unit Citations, it added.

Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri reviewed the Guard of honour during Western Command Investiture Ceremony at Mamun Mil Station.

The investiture ceremony is held once a year to confer awards to personnel who have distinguished themselves by acts of gallantry and exceptional devotion to duty.
