Bangladesh visit: Army Chief holds meetings with top military leadership

Dhaka/ New Delhi: Army Chief General Manoj Pande Monday called on his Bangladeshi counterpart General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed in Dhaka, and discussed ways to enhance & strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.

The Army Chief also interacted with Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal, Chief of Bangladesh Navy & Air Vice Marshal M Shafiqul Alam, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) of Bangladesh Air Force and discussed aspects of mutual interest.

He also called on Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique (Retd), Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and discussed steps to take forward the defence engagement between both countries.

Earlier, General Pande received an impressive Guard of Honour at Senakunja in Bangladesh. He also planted a tree to commemorate the friendship between the two Armies.

Continuing with the excellent bilateral defence ties between India and Bangladesh, Army Chief General Manoj Pande is on a visit to Bangladesh from 18 to 20 July 2022. This is the first foreign visit by General Manoj Pande since his assumption as Army Chief.
