Gratitude ride: Trishakti Corps Commander flags off biking rally

New Delhi: General Officer Commanding of Trishakti Corps Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich on Friday flagged off a group of bike riders named Team Wanderers at Siliguri in West Bengal. The troupe of bike riders will travel across the NorthEast to express gratitude to Indian Army personnel deployed in the forward posts of the region.

The Indian Army said in a tweet, "GOC Trishakti Corps flags off "Team Wanderers" on way to NatuLa and Guru Dongmar in #Sikkim."

"The team under the aegis of @MDoNER_India will ride across North East India and express gratitude to #IndianArmy personnel deployed in the forward areas," it added.

The group of 11 enthusiasts will take out the ride in the North-East from 19 – 31 May and will cover Zuluk, Nathula, Lachen, Gurudongmar, Alipurduar, Tezpur, Tezu, Kaho and Guwahati during their journey through West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

33 Corps of the Indian Army is popularly known as the Trishakti Corps. The Corps under Eastern Command is responsible for guarding the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in the Sikkim sector. 10 days back Trishakti Corps celebrated its 62nd Raising Day on 10 May at Sukna.
