New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is on a two-day visit to Karwar to inspect Project Seabird Karwar. He arrived in Karwar on Thursday.

On his arrival, the Defence Minister inspected the Naval Guard of Honour. During his two-day visit to undertake an assessment of infrastructural development & operational capabilities at Project Seabird Karwar. He will visit the Naval Base in Karwar and interact with the Indian Navy personnel.

Project Seabird Karwar is the largest naval infrastructure project for India which involves the creation of a naval base at Karwar on the west coast of India. Upon completion, this $3 billion program and effort will provide the Indian Navy with its largest naval base on the west coast and also the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.
