New Delhi: Lt General ADS Aujla has been appointed as the next General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the strategic Chinar Corps. The XV Corps of the Indian Army is known as Chinar Corps and it is based in Srinagar.
The Chinar Corps is responsible for military operations in the Kashmir Valley.
According to the Army officials, "Lt Gen ADS Aujla will be taking over the charge on June 10 from Lt Gen D P Pandey."
"Lt Gen Aujla who was recently promoted to the rank of Lt Gen has commanded a 28 infantry division in north Kashmir and has vast experience in counter-insurgency and counter-infiltration operations", they added.
Lt Gen Aujla served as the Major General General Staff of Udhampur based Northern Command. He had also served in the Chinar Corps earlier as Brigadier General of the Staff Operations.
