Indian Naval Ships of First Training Squadron reaches Salalah, Oman as part of Overseas Deployment

New Delhi: Ships of the First Training Squadron of the Indian Navy, namely INS Tir, INS Tarangini, INS Sujata and CGS Sarathi, have reached the port of Salalah, Oman as part of their Overseas Deployment.

A Navy Spokesperson said that Captain Aftab Ahmed Khan, Senior Officer, First Training Squadron paid a courtesy call on Acting Southern Naval Area Commander, Oman Navy, Commander Sulaiyam Humaid Saleem Al-Shabibi. Training initiatives and issues of bilateral Naval cooperation between the two countries were significant points of discussion during the call.

During the three-day visit, the ships would be involved in interactions with the officials from the Royal Navy of Oman and various other dignitaries.

To further strengthen the bilateral relations and maritime cooperation between Oman and India, the ships will participate in a joint exercise (PASSEX) tomorrow.
