New Delhi: Indian Army celebrated the 111th Anniversary of the Corps of Signals on Tuesday, February 15. Chief of the Army Staff General MM Naravane gave his best wishes to all ranks, veterans and families of Corps of Signals on the occasion of Corps Day. "General MM Naravane #COAS and All Ranks of #IndianArmy convey best wishes to All Ranks, Veterans & Families of Corps of Signals on the occasion of Corps Day", the Indian Army's Twitter handle, @adgpi tweeted.

The Corps of Signals was raised in 1911, since then it has been successfully playing major roles in all operations, being at the forefront of technology-driven operational paradigms. After the 1965 and 1971 wars, the corps underwent important expansions. The corps formally received its regimental colours on February 20, 1965, and on February 15, 1981. The Corps remains the lead agency and nodal centre for telecommunications and cyber security both within the Defence Services and at the National level.

Being termed as the Nerve of the Army, the Signals Corps functions with the vision to attain and maintain information ascendancy by developing an info structure to cater for Network Centric Warfare in a digitized battlefield of tomorrow. The motto of corps is 'Teevra Chaukas' or 'Swift and Secure.'
