GRSE stages nukkad natak on ‘Rashtriya Ekta’

Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), celebrated the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day) to commemorate the 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in all their units in Kolkata. During the celebrations, they recalled Sardar Patel's contribution to the building of a modern and United India. On the occasion, a 'Run for Unity' was flagged off by GRSE's CMD R Adm VK Saxena, IN (Retired) from the 61 Park Unit of the Shipyard.

Around 200 employees and trade apprentices participated in the event with a lot of enthusiasm. Around 35 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel participated in the 'March Past' which was flagged off by GRSE's Director (Shipbuilding), Cmde S Nayyar, IN (Retd) and Director (Personnel) Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd) from main to FOJ Unit of GRSE. A 'Nukkad Natak,' on the theme 'Rashtriya Ekta,' was performed by five employees at 61 Park Unit of GRSE in the presence of Director (Finance) SS Dogra, Director (Shipbuilding) Cmde Sanjeev Nayyar, IN (Retd), Director (Personnel) Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd), senior officials and employees of the company.

The 'Unity Pledge' was administered by GRSE CMD to the employees at the premises of the Fitting Out Unit (FOJ) Unit of the shipyard. The CMD reiterated the need for reminiscing and living up to the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and practising his ideologies of unity in our day to day lives at work, home and in society. All the directors, senior officials and employees of the company were present on the occasion. During the day, other activities such as essay writing competition, on the theme 'united we stand – divided we fall' and a quiz competition on 'national unity' were also organised at the main unit of GRSE. The prizes were distributed to the winners at the close of the event in the company's FOJ unit, bringing the event to a grand close.
