Lucknow: Do not get confused watching the 3,500 acres of land loaded with heavy artilleries, tanks, fighter jets and other military equipment with any war zone, as this is the site for DefExpo 2020 being held in Lucknow.

The11th edition of Defence Expo (DefExpo 2020) will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5 in Lucknow.
With less than a week left for the inauguration, preparations for the mega military technology display event have reached in its last leg with the site already decked up with heavy warfare machineries.

Live demonstration of Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System

The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in an official statement said they are also set to display more than 500 technological products.

"The display of various indigenously-developed military systems and technologies by DRDO will bring alive the spirit of self-reliance and national pride at the forthcoming DefExpo 2020," the DRDO said in a statement.

The statement further adds, “The DRDO"s participation is marked with the live demonstration of the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), the Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun MK IA, the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP), the Counter Mine Flail, the 15m Advanced Composite Modular Bridging System (ACMBS) and modular bridge.”

Not one or two but 8 airshows to enthrall the audience

Lucknow sky will also witness eight air shows during the five days long exhibition of military technologies. According to official defence sources, eight airshows will be held in the event to display the skills of the mechanical birds used in wars.

February  5: Air show at Vrindavan Yojna would start at 11 am while the one at Gomti riverfront would begin at 4 pm.
February 6: There will be three air shows. Two of them (at 11 am and 3 pm) will be held at Vrindavan Yojna while another one at Gomti riverfront would start at 4 pm.
February 7: The shows would start at Vrindavan Yojna at 11 am and 3 pm while an air show will be held at Gomti Riverfront at 4 pm.
February 8: The shows will start at 11 am and 3 pm at Vrindavan Yojna and at 4 pm at Gomti riverfront.
February 9: The air show will be held at 11:30 am at Vrindavan Yojna.

Defence Expo to reshape UP's image

The central government has set up a defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh with identification of six nodes and a defence planning committee has also been formed in this regard. The government of India is also planning to build a defence manufacturing corridor along with the proposed, much-hyped Bundelkhand Expressway which will bring investment in the state.
