New Delhi: Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar has met top Seychelles leadership during his three-day visit to the island nation.
The Indian Navy said in a statement that the Navy Chief called on the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan. During the meeting, both sides discussed on collaborative maritime security and avenues to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
He also met Brig Michael Rosette, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of Seychelles Defence and held discussions on Maritime Security priorities for the Indian Ocean. Both sides also reviewed ongoing bilateral defence cooperation.
Earlier, he was received with a Guard of Honour on his visit to Seychelles People's Defence Force HQs. He also interacted with senior officers of SPDF during his visit.
The Naval Chief met High Commissioner and former Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag at the start of his three-day official visit to Seychelles.
The visit is considered significant as China has been making serious efforts to make friends with the governments in the island state.
