New Delhi: Sanjay Dwivedi has been appointed as a Chairman and Managing Director of AVNL. Dwivedi is an officer of Indian Ordinance Factory Services and was officiating the top position.
He has a rich experience of operations in the defence PSU.
AVNL is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
It was carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board. It possesses modern infrastructure and capability of designing and building sophisticated Armoured Fighting Vehicles such as Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicle, Mine Protected Vehicles (MPV), Logistics Vehicles, etc.
AVNL has the complete wherewithal for manufacturing of T-72 and T-90 Tanks, MBT Arjun, Bridge Layer Tank, Trawl, BMP-II & its variants, MPV 4x4, MPV 6x6, Stallion 5/7.5 T, LPTA 2.5 T, Close Range Naval Gun (CRN-91), Naval Decoy Launcher Kavach, High Power Engines and Transmission Assemblies for all these vehicles.
