New Delhi: Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) in association with CII, Goa organised a one day Vendor Meet aimed at enhancing business opportunities for the local industry of Goa. The program also facilitated the local MSMEs and vendors to register onboard the Government E- Portal and also register as a vendor in the GSL vendor base. The seminar also created awareness about GSL's requirement of products and services for Shipbuilding & General Engineering and encourage entrepreneurs for the participation in GSL tenders.
The program saw an overwhelming response from entrepreneurs and MSMEs from in and around Goa. The function was attended by the Director of the Industries, Trade & Commerce, Govt of Goa Swetika Sachan (IAS), Chairman and Managing Director of GSL Cmde BB Nagpal, GeM's Advisor Cmde BK Munjal and CII Goa State Council's Chairman Atul Jadhav.

Speaking during the inaugural session, Cmde Nagpal emphasised the need for the local Goa Industry and MSMEs to actively participate in GSL's shipbuilding program and indicated that the yard has a considerable order book to execute in the coming years and it is important to have strong ancillary industry and ecosystem to support its shipbuilding programs. He also highlighted the need for all vendors to register on the GeM platform and utilise the portal's features and advantages to their benefit. The program was well organised and appreciated by the participants.
The session ended with a Vote of thanks by GSL's Off. Chief General Manager (Commercial) M Subraminan.
