Australian Defence Chief calls on Indian Air Force Chief to discuss bilateral cooperation
New Delhi: The Chief of Australian Defence Forces General Angus Campbell is on a visit to India. He has met Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari in New Delhi.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the further ways to bolster the bilateral defence cooperation
The Indian Air Force said in a tweet, "General Angus Campbell, Chief of Defence Forces, Australia called on Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari #CAS today. Contemporary issues of mutual interest and avenues to enhance defence cooperation were discussed between both the Chiefs."
The Australian Defence Chief also laid a wreath at Delhi War Cemetery in the Anzac Day Dawn Service & Wreath Laying Ceremony organised by Australian High Commission.
The day is commemorated to pay homage to Indian, Australian, New Zealand & other Allied Soldiers who fell at Gallipoli during the 1st World War.
In a tweet Gen Campbell said, "Honoured to spend #AnzacDay in India, with a memorable Dawn Service at the Delhi War Cemetery."
"Australia and India fought side-by-side at Gallipoli, sowing the seeds of the defence relationship we share today," he added.
