BEL signs MoU with HSL and three other defence companies

New Delhi/ Bengaluru: Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) on Tuesday signed an MoU with Defence PSU Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) to carry out joint development, manufacturing and product upgrades of identified products/systems and to capitalise on the emerging opportunities in the domestic Defence, non-Defence and Export markets. Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), who is currently holding Additional Charge of the CMD- BEL inked MoU with three other companies apart from HSL. These companies are Yantra India Limited (YIL), Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd and SVC TECH VENTURES LLP.

The MoU with SVC TECH VENTURES LLP aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and SVC TECH VENTURES LLP. It will enable the two companies to collaborate as partners in the design/development of new and improved Heavy Duty Blast Doors for the protection of Defence establishments and national assets, BEL said in a statement.

The MoU with Yantra India Limited (YIL), a Defence PSU is aimed at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and YIL and sharing of manufacturing and Test infrastructure/resources for the production of Arms and Ammunition and related systems. While the MoU with Spacefaring Technologies Pvt Ltd is aimed at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Spacefaring. It will enable both companies to address the diverse needs of the Indian Defence forces and civilian customers for the protection of personnel and critical defence assets, rapidly-deployable unpressurised and pressurised radomes, and next-generation aerostat airborne long-range surveillance platform system.
