BDL pays an interim dividend of Rs 92 crore for FY 2020-21

New Delhi: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Hyderabad based Defence PSU, has paid an interim dividend of Rs 92.008 crore to the government for the current financial year (FY 2020-21). The board of directors of the company in their board meeting held on March 12, have approved payment of interim dividend at Rs 6.70/- per share of the face value of Rs. 10/- each. The interim dividend declared by the company works out to 67 percent of the paid-up share capital of Rs 183.28 crore.

BDL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd) presented the cheque for Rs 92.008 crore, being the interim dividend pertaining to the government's shareholding in BDL (74.93 percent) to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi on Monday. 

Secretary (Defence Production) Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary (P&C) Anurag Bajpai from Ministry of Defence and Executive Director (Mktg) Cmde TN Kaul (Retd) and Deputy General Manager (Liaison) Col Ravi Prakash (Retd) from BDL were also present on the occasion.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is a manufacturer of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Telangana. BDL was established in the year 1970 as a manufacturing base for guided weapon systems. Begun with a pool of engineers drawn from Indian Ordnance Factories, DRDO and aerospace industries, BDL began by producing a first-generation anti-tank guided missile – the "French SS11B1." This product was a culmination of a licence agreement the government entered into with Aerospatiale. The defence PSU has three manufacturing units, located at Kanchanbagh Hyderabad (Telangana), Bhanur, Medak district of Telangana and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). Two New Units are planned at Ibrahimpatnam, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana and Amravati, Maharashtra.
