New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff Gen MM Naravane on Wednesday spoke to Lt Gen Fahd Bin Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutair, the Commander of Royal Saudi Armed Forces of Saudi Arabia to further deepen the bilateral military ties between the two nations.
The Army said various aspects of bilateral defence cooperation were discussed in the talks.
In its tweet, the force said, "General MM Naravane, COAS, had telephonic interaction with Lieutenant General Fahd Bin Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutair, Commander, Royal Saudi Armed Forces, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and discussed aspects of bilateral Defence Cooperation."
In the last two months, both the Generals have interacted twice over the telephone. Indian Army Chief also visited the Kingdom in December 2020, becoming the first-ever head of the Indian Army to visit the strategically important west Asian country. During his tour, he received Guard of honour at the headquarters of the Royal Saudi Land Forces where he held extensive talks to strengthen military ties.
