New Delhi: An Indian delegation, led by Additional Secretary (Defence Production) T Natarajan, attended the 16th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 23), being held at Langkawi, Malaysia between May 22-25, 2023.
The Additional Secretary (Defence Production) also called on Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato' Seri Mohamad Hasan on the sidelines of the exhibition.
Established in 1991 and held biennially, LIMA is one of the largest maritime & aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific. This year's edition involves over 600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, including India.
Up to 20 international pavilions from the US, China, UK, France, UAE, Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, Türkiye, Brazil, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Czech Republic and others.
The 20,000 sqm MIEC space venue is being utilised indoor and outdoor with 110 of aircraft and 110 of ships/vessels, 45,000 trade visitors, more than 250,000 public visitors and more than 400 VVIPs comprising Ministers of Defence and Ministers of Transport, Senior Officer and Service Chiefs from 59 countries.
Apart from exhibitions, forums and conferences, LIMA 2023 is also organizing various activities such as drone races, flight simulators, technology talks and career fairs for visitors and enthusiasts of the maritime industry and aerospace technology. This event is a platform for local industry players to network for business development.
