GRSE inked three agreements during IDEX 21 held in UAE

Kolkata: Leveraging the opportunity during IDEX-2021 the PSU shipbuilder GRSE inked three agreements with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company, UAE, and two local companies from Egypt and UAE. "GRSE signed three agreements during IDEX 21 towards 'Mutual Co-operation in Shipbuilding Project in the Defence and Maritime Sector in MENA region," the DPSU said in an official statement released Friday. "GRSE played a pivotal role in setting up the India Pavilion during the exhibition. HE Pawan Kapoor, Ambassador of India inaugurated India Pavilion at IDEX 2021 in the august presence of CMD GRSE, DGNO Indian Navy Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, CMD BDL, Director (CP) MDL & other dignitaries from DRDO and OFB" the statement added.

IDEX 2021 was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) between February 21 to 25. It concluded Thursday.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, participated in the  "In furtherance of Hon Prime Minister of India's vision of SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) towards Maritime Security and Co-operation, the participation furthered the footprint in Gulf region of the shipbuilding prowess of GRSE and it aided exploring an avenue for synergy and partnerships for the niche naval shipbuilding market in the Middle East" the statement mentioned.

India Pavilion also witnessed visits of several dignitaries which included Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed, Interior Minister of UAE and Mr Charalambos Petrides, Hon'ble Defence Minister, Republic of Cyprus. The India Pavilion was honoured by the visit of His Excellency "Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan AI Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Qasimi from the Royal family of the Ras Al Khaima, Algerian delegation led by their Air Chief & Chief of Staff- Navy, Defence Attaché- Japan in UAE.
