New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari has visited major Air Force bases in Eastern Air Command. During the visit, he also flew a sortie on a Su-30MKI aircraft and one of the squadrons. He met the Air Warriors and exhorted them to maintain the highest levels of professionalism & diligence in executing the assigned tasks.
The Indian Air Force said in a tweet, "Chief Mshl VR Chaudhari #CAS on a two-day visit to major Air Force bases in Eastern Air Command flew a sortie on a Su-30MKI aircraft on 20 July 22 @ one of the sqns & exhorted AirWarriors to maintain highest levels of professionalism & diligence in executing assigned tasks."
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal had addressed the Eastern Air Command's personnel on the Agnipath scheme.
The IAF conducted the online registration process under the scheme from June 24 to July 5 and it received 7.5 lakh applications.
Under the Agnipath scheme, those aged between 17-and-a-half and 21 years would be inducted into the armed forces for a four-year tenure and 25 per cent of them will be inducted for regular service subsequently.
