New Delhi: The 25th edition of the India-USA Executive Steering Group (ESG) meeting concluded today at US Army Pacific HQ at Fort Shafter in Hawaii. The week-long ESG meeting was attended by the Indian delegation led by Deputy Chief (Strategy) Lt Gen SK Sharma.

The Indian Army said in a tweet, "Lt Gen SK Sharma #DCOAS (Strat) attended the 25th Executive Steering Group Meeting between #IndianArmy and #USArmy at HQ US Army Pacific. The meeting articulated the contours to enhance #DefenceCooperation between the two Armies."

Gen. Charles A. Flynn, Commanding general of the U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) was the Head of a delegation from the US side.

"India is among our most important strategic partners in the region and we look forward to exercising Yudh Abhyas this fall and beyond," said Gen Flynn after the meeting.

The forum is an Army to Army engagement that meets every year alternately in India and USA to discuss Army to Army cooperation.

A number of contemporary issues of mutual interests were discussed with an aim to enhance the engagements in diverse fields. Relevant issues of defence cooperation and common subjects of Interest were discussed between both sides during the meeting.

Last year the Executive Steering Group meeting was held in New Delhi both in person and through virtual mode owing to restrictions of COVID-19.
